Purchase & refund terms
Updated 7 November 2026
What you are buying
Each payment of £3.99 GBP buys one calendar month of online practice access to the selected course: ADI Part 1 or Learner Driver Theory. Courses are purchased separately. £3.99 is the total amount charged for that course purchase; there is no additional website checkout fee.
This is independent study material, not an official DVSA test, test booking or qualification. We are not affiliated with or endorsed by the DVSA. No test result or pass is guaranteed.
Access, duration & payment
You need an account, an internet connection and a modern browser. Check the selected course and £3.99 total before paying through Stripe. Access is linked to the account signed in at checkout and begins when successful payment is confirmed. Check your student account for the expiry date. If payment succeeds but access does not appear, contact support before paying again.
There is no subscription, standing order or automatic renewal. You choose whether to purchase again. If you buy the same course before it expires, one month is added to its current expiry date. Otherwise the month starts on confirmation of your new payment. If the following month has no matching date, access ends on its last day at the corresponding time.
14-day money-back guarantee
You may request a full refund within 14 days of each purchase, including if you have already used the course. Email support@localshopshare.com with your account email, course, purchase date and payment reference if available. You do not need to give a reason or send card details. You can also send a clear cancellation request to our registered office.
We will issue an eligible refund within 14 days of receiving your request, to the original payment method. Your bank may take additional time to show it. We do not deduct a website administration fee from a full refund. Access supplied by the refunded purchase may be withdrawn; any access from other, non-refunded purchases remains subject to its own expiry.
After the guarantee period, contact us if access is faulty, unavailable or not as described. We will address the problem and provide any remedy required by law. This guarantee is additional to your statutory rights and does not restrict them. We do not require you to waive your statutory cancellation rights to start practising.
Optional cancellation request format
To WINAM SERVICES LIMITED, support@localshopshare.com, 82a James Carter Road, Bury St. Edmunds, England, IP28 7DE: “I wish to cancel my purchase of [course], ordered on [date]. My name is [name] and my account email is [email].” Include the date of your request and, if sending it on paper, your signature. Any equally clear cancellation statement is accepted.

Who is responsible
WINAM SERVICES LIMITED (company number 16030992) is responsible for personal data used to operate Driving Theory Academy. Contact support@localshopshare.com or write to our registered office: 82a James Carter Road, Bury St. Edmunds, England, IP28 7DE.
Data used & why
- Account information: your email address, account identifier, password hash and account creation information, to register and authenticate you. The application stores a salted password hash rather than your readable password.
- Course and practice information: purchased course access and expiry, practice attempts, question identifiers and scores, to provide and record your learning. Submitted answers are used to mark attempts.
- Payment information: course, payment confirmations and identifiers needed to connect a payment with your account. Stripe receives the account email and purchase details to process checkout. Card details are entered with Stripe; this application does not store full card details.
- Technical information: session identifiers, IP addresses and request/error logs processed to operate, troubleshoot and protect the website.
- Support correspondence: information you send us to answer enquiries and handle access, privacy and refund requests.
We use account, purchase and practice information as necessary to perform our contract with you or take steps you request before purchase. Security, troubleshooting and service administration rely on our legitimate interests in running a reliable service, balanced against your rights. Where necessary, we process records to meet legal obligations, including accounting and responding to lawful requests.
Providers & transfers
Render hosts the website and its account database. Stripe processes payments and refunds and handles some payment information under its own responsibilities. Our support email provider processes correspondence. Relevant data may also be shared with professional advisers or authorities where necessary for legal obligations or claims.
Service providers may process information outside the UK. Where a restricted transfer occurs, applicable UK data-protection transfer requirements must be met, such as an adequacy regulation or appropriate contractual safeguards. Contact us for information about arrangements relevant to your data. See Stripe’s privacy notice and Render’s privacy notice for their handling of information.
Storage & retention
Account and practice records are retained to maintain your account and learning history. A course expiry does not automatically delete the account or its history. You can request account closure or deletion by emailing support. Requests are handled manually. We may retain relevant purchase, refund and correspondence records for applicable accounting obligations, unresolved disputes and legal claims, and will explain any necessary retention when responding to a request.
Cookies & local storage
The application uses an essential sign-in cookie, normally lasting up to 24 hours, to recognise your session. Signing out clears it. Its installable-app feature may store public page files on your device for offline loading; paid questions, account responses and scores are not deliberately cached by that feature. This version of the application does not add advertising or analytics tracking scripts. Stripe may use its own technologies on its checkout pages. Blocking essential cookies can prevent sign-in.
Your rights & complaints
Depending on the circumstances, you can request access, correction, deletion, restriction or portability of your information, or object to processing based on legitimate interests. Contact support; we may need to verify your identity. Where processing relies on consent, you can withdraw it without affecting earlier lawful processing. We do not use the application to make solely automated decisions producing legal or similarly significant effects about you.
You can complain to us and to the UK Information Commissioner’s Office at ico.org.uk/make-a-complaint. We update this notice when our data handling changes. The date above identifies this version.
